Check Out Your Attic Space First
Head to your attic and search for signs of leaks including recent water damage.
If you don’t see any obvious signs of water damage you should search for water stains on the walks or attic ceiling because, this could also be a clear indication that you’re going to need to have the roof replaced sooner rather than later.
Inspect Your Property for Roof Damage
Another great way to know if your roof was recently damaged from a storm is to thoroughly check your property for signs of roof damage including missing roof shingles or metal fascia which came from the roof.
You should also consider going up on your roof to thoroughly inspect exhaust pipes and the angles or outer edges where your roof meets the walls of your home.
Search for Hail Damage to Your Home
When inspecting your roof one of the best signs of hail damage is dimples, or dents which have been made to the shingles on your roof from small chunks of hail which may have pounded your roof during a recent storm.
If you observe that your roof does indeed have signs of dimples it’s best to consult with a roofing contractor to have your roof repaired or replaced.
